Our Story

Eco Swami came about as an idea while I was visiting the beautiful Galapogas Islands and Fernando de Noronha. While hiking on these amazing islands, I noticed plastic waste that had been dumped in the ocean washing up on the shores of the beaches. It truly broke my heart to see these natural wonders being destroyed by plastic waste. This is when I thought I would marry up my passions for yoga and environmental sustainability. At Eco Swami we're doing our part help reduce the amount of plastic being generated, so we don't use any plastic wrapping on our yoga mats. Eco Swami yoga mats are only made from materials that are biodegradable, don't contain any of the nasty chemicals found in PVC yoga mats and can be recycled. Eco Swami is also a member of 1% for the planet, so 1% of our gross sales goes toward tackling our planet's most pressing environmental issues.
